AMERICAN DIAGNOSTIC
American Diagnostic Corporation (ADC) was founded in 1984. In just over two decades, ADC has grown into one of the world's premier suppliers of diagnostic medical products, personal instruments, and accessories for the healthcare industry. ADC's corporate headquarters, located in Hauppauge, NY occupies a 35,000 square foot state-of-the-art office, quality control, manufacturing, and distribution facility. Sales offices in London, England, and Tokyo, Japan service our European and Pacific Rim distribution. Quality control and sourcing offices Taipei, Taiwan and Ningbo, China oversee ADC's Asian manufacturing facilities. ADC products are sold on 6 continents in over 30 countries and are in use by thousands of health care institutions and millions of health care professionals world wide.
ADC products are marketed under our many brands - among them, ADC, MEDICUT, ADSCOPE, PROSCOPE, DIAGNOSTIX, PROSPHYG, ADTEMP, MULTIKUF, ADLITE, POCKET PAL, RESPONDER, ADCUFF, SYSTEM 5, and ADFLOW just to name a few. ADC also manufactures products under OEM (original equipment manufacturer), and private label contracts for over a dozen of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors in the acute care, alternate site, nursing, extended care, student, and EMS markets. In fact, ADC is the largest private label supplier of stethoscopes and blood pressure instruments in the United States.
Product Philosophy
Diagnostic products tend to fall into two categories. High priced premium quality, domestically manufactured products at one end of the spectrum, and low priced imports, often of questionable quality at the other end. ADC bridged that gap by creating the first true line of hybrid products that combine the best of both worlds. Components for ADC diagnostic products are manufactured by the world's leading ISO 9000 subcontractors. ADC then inspects, assembles, and packages the finished products in their Hauppauge, NY facility. ADC has positioned its products to be generally priced at 20% to 40% below the legendary domestic brands and only slightly higher than the low quality "imports".
Mission Statement
To produce feature-rich, value priced professional diagnostic products for the healthcare marketplace while maintaining a stable, dependable employment environment for our associates and trading partners.
The ADC ADVANTAGE
ADC's products are designed to meet the demanding needs of today's ever changing healthcare landscape. ADC partners with the world's leading ISO 9000 subcontractors to produce components incorporating proprietary features and technologies on an exclusive basis. ADC then inspects, assembles, and packages the finished products in its Hauppauge, NY facility.
The advantages to this unique approach:
Unrivalled Quality: We've partnered with the worlds very best component manufacturers ensuring unsurpassed quality. These contractors, some with over a quarter of a century manufacturing experience, produce components on an exclusive basis to the most rigid ISO 9000 standards.
Component Consistency: Single sourced, long term contracts with our component vendors ensures day-in, day-out consistency, lot after lot, year after year. The replacement blood pressure cuff purchased today will be identical to the one found on the original equipment purchased 5 years ago.
Lower manufacturing costs: Massive production volume - among the largest in the world - combined with global sourcing and semi-automated assembly processes allows ADC products to be priced considerably lower than comparably featured competing "domestic" brands.
Superior Quality Control: By rigorously inspecting our products at every step of the manufacturing process, we ensure unmatched quality in a value priced offering. These processes include:
- Superior in-house IQC based on ANSI /ASQC Z1.4 -1993 standards
- Critical components (aneroid and mercurial manometers, air control valves) subjected to much more rigorous IQC (up to 100%)
- Process QC of every item during assembly/packaging process
- Finished QC to ensure conformance to design criteria and our demanding standards of workmanship.
- Lot tracking of all manufactured items.
- ADC is certified to ISO 9001: 2000 and ISO 13485:2003 quality system standards by TUV Rheinland.
Unsurpassed versatility: Using both assembly line and production cells we can build a wide array of products to meet regular and spot demand or customized requirements.
Higher domestic content: We do more of the critical work in the U.S.A. to ensure superior quality products with unsurpassed performance.
Social Responsibility: As a matter of corporate policy, at least 25% of our Hauppauge, NY production department is set aside for staffing by individuals with disabilities. These workers allow ADC to keep work in the U.S. while employing an often underutilized, but highly motivated segment of the population. As of August, 2005 ADC has employees in positions ranging from quality control to production: warehousing to shipping. ADC has worked in partnership with the Suffolk County chapter of the AHRC (Association for the Help of Retarded Children) to place and train mentally retarded adults into productive employment environments.
